About Ching Ting

Graduated from Purchase College, Conservatory of Dance in New York, Ching Ting teaches dance to students of various age groups, inclusive of special needs students. Her field of teaching includes Creative Movement, Ethnic Fusion Dance, Ballet and Modern /Contemporary Dance. She has also acquired experience and knowledge off stage in Dance Production as a Stage Manager in Singapore and in New York.

A versatile individual, she works well with a team of individuals from various nationalities who share her passion and interests. She had worked with renowned choreographers and practitioners at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) in Singapore, Purchase College in New York USA. She brings into the arts field her experience, knowledge and practical skills through hard-work, a willingness-to-try attitude and creative style of training.

Since 2014, Ching Ting has been actively involved with Ageless Theatre (AT), a non-profit theatre group for the seniors and has worked on the group’s productions in various capacity such as movement choreography and stage management. Besides volunteering at St Luke’s Eldercare (Ayer Rajah Centre) with AT, she has conducted sharing session/ workshops for caregivers and persons with dementia in Enabling Festival 2018 and 2019.

 

Ballet

Baby Ballet
Designed with children aged 3-5 in mind, a dance and movement class in line with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, for toddlers to learn how to move and strengthen their growing bodies.

Children Ballet
For children and young adults between the ages of 6-18, a ballet class in line with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus without the division of different grades

Adult Ballet
For the young and old alike above the age of 19, a ballet class in line with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, focusing on conditioning the body and the mind in a non-competitive and nurturing environment


Ballet Class (Open Syllabus)
- Designed for adults/ students for all ages and abilities (with or without experience)
- suitable for learners who wish to bridge to RAD syllabus class
- open for anyone who love to dance

Focus:

  • Posture: pelvic placement, activation of core unit, lengthening of spine, body alignment

  • Feet positions, alignment & strengthening technique

  • Port de bras : carriage of the arms

  • Basic transfer of weight

  • Eyeline & head placement

  • Remembering simple choreography

  • Musical phrasing with bodily coordination

  • Barre work, centre practice & simple allegro
