About Ellen

Ellen started dancing at age 5, and started teaching since 2011. Since the beginning of her dance journey, she has had the opportunity to experience many different styles of dance on many different stages.

Dance styles Ellen is versed well in:
• Ballet
• Contemporary
• Ethnic dances (Chinese, Malay, Indian)
• Hip-hop
• Latin dance
Ballet certifications:
• Advanced 2 certification from Royal Academy of Dance (RAD)
• Intermediate Foundation certification from The Commonwealth Society of Teacher of Dancing
(CSTD)

Teaching experience:
• Teaching in MOE schools (from Primary to JC level)
o Enrichment since 2011
o CCA since 2016
• Relief teaching for RAD ballet classes (from Pre-Primary to Advanced 1 level) since 2013

Professional certification:
• Programme for Active Learning by Ministry of Education (MOE)
• National Standards for Youth Sports for Coaching in Singapore Schools Workshop by
MOE/Sport Singapore
• Essentials of Teaching and Learning by National Institute of Education (NIE)/ Nanyang
Technological University (NTU)
• Standard First Aid + AED (completed on July 2020)
• An Introduction to Safe Dance Practice in MOE Schools by MOE/ National Arts Council (NAC)/
Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA)

Ellen hopes to share her passion with with other like minded individuals, and inspire young minds about this type movement called Dance.

 

Ballet

Baby Ballet
Designed with children aged 3-5 in mind, a dance and movement class in line with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, for toddlers to learn how to move and strengthen their growing bodies.

Children Ballet
For children and young adults between the ages of 6-18, a ballet class in line with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus without the division of different grades

Adult Ballet
For the young and old alike above the age of 19, a ballet class in line with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, focusing on conditioning the body and the mind in a non-competitive and nurturing environment
